Saadiyah Islam

MChem Student

Saadiyah comes from London, and she is currently attending the fourth year of the MChem programme at the University of Manchester. During her third year laboratory project at Manchester, Saadiyah worked on the synthesis of complex arylsulfonium salts via late-stage functionalization of aromatic Cā€“H bonds, under the supervision of Dr Giacomo Crisenza. In September 2024, she (re)joined the Crisenza group for her MChem project, which focuses on the development of electrosynthetic alkene tri-functionalization protocols through radical Brook-rearrangement cascades.
Besides Chemistry, Saadiyah enjoys drawing, gaming and playing the clarinet.
